Why did I put my new novel on Kindle Scout?

First off… what is Kindle Scout?

Here’s what Amazon say:

Browse new, never-before-published books
Kindle Scout is reader-powered publishing for new, never-before-published books. It’s a place where readers help decide if a book gets published. Every book has 30 days to earn your nomination.

Nominate your favourites
When you discover a book that you think is great, nominate it and the book will be added to Your Nominations panel. Keep up to three books nominated at a time, and update your nominations whenever you want.

When a book’s 30-day campaign ends while in Your Nominations panel, your nomination is tallied and removed from your panel – freeing up that nomination for another book. You will receive an email to let you know whether the book has been selected for publication.

As a thank you from us (Amazon) and the authors you support, you will receive an early, free copy of all the Kindle Scout books you nominated that are published.

Continue to champion the books and authors you helped bring to life by leaving reviews and sharing with friends.

So why do I want to be involved?
I’m a big supporter of Amazon and what it has done for self-publishing. Instead of my novels languishing on my computer or in the slush pile of agents and publishers, they are out there in the public domain, professionally edited and being read and reviewed. It has allowed me to become what I’ve always wanted to bea published author.

What I particularly like about Kindle Scout is that readers help decide if a book gets published. Selected books will be published by Kindle Press and receive 5-year renewable terms, a $1,500 advance, 50% eBook royalty rate, easy rights reversions and featured Amazon marketing. Which, if I’m selected, will be a wonderful opportunity.

What book have I submitted for nomination?
Earlier this year, I set out to write an 8K short to complete my upcoming short story compilation The Lady in the Glass – Tales of Death, Justice, and Dying. I originally called the story my ‘Space Mystery, Murder Thing’ but as soon as I discovered the story’s hero, it turned into a fully, fledged, sci-fi, mystery thriller. The novel’s name is VATIC.

Vatic by Kev Heritage

No memory, half-dead and 100% in your face!

Top Company scientist, Chen Jelinek, has committed suicide. Vatic, a half-alive empath with no memory of who or what he is, will die in six-hours if he can’t find out why—or so the Company tells him—an ‘added incentive to get the job done’. Our hero soon discovers he is one of the Skilled, a genetically enhanced human revered and despised in equal measure—a bloodhound with a terrifying past who’ll stop at nothing in his pursuit of truth. And ‘the Skilled always get their guy’… don’t they?

To get involved with Kindle Scout and to choose VATIC as one of your selections, simply follow this link: http://amzn.to/1Kto1cO and click the ‘Nominate’ button.

Remember: If you nominate VATIC and the book is chosen by Amazon for publishing, you will receive an early, FREE COPY in 30 days time! But only if the book is chosen, which depends on the number of  nominations. So if you want an exclusive free copy, get as many of your friends as you can  to nominate me.

Any help will be gratefully received. I’ll appreciate any push you can give me.

All the best!
